I took the kids downtown to the Lincoln Memorial for a quickie educational foray. It was already a half day for them, and, seeing as it's the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth, well, I figgered this'd be a fine day to do something ed-yoo-cational. Witness the learning happening!
We walked from there up to the World War II Memorial, stopping for a gander at the Korean War Memorial. At each stop, we were accosted by hungry urban animals, like this fellow, who was attracted by the sound of the plastic bag I was carrying with our educational mementos from the Lincoln Memorial (a copy of the Emancipation Proclamation and two children's stories about Lincoln).
